Extra Credit


                        The Dinner Party  by Judy Chicago

In the Dinner Party from Judy Chicago my experience so far from what i see in person in video is completed different. i expected the place to be bigger. so at some point a little disappointed for that. apart from that i can say that sewing part and the design are completed different and accurate according the design and the person each one where represent.  Apart of the dinner party in went to the 3 floor to see some paintings likes Pablo Picasso, and carvings using wax on wood like Woman Earrings and  the Statue of queen Ankhnes- Meryre 2 and her son Pepy 2
Ethel Smyth(1806-1944)

Smyth, Ethel is from British nationality. she is composer orchestra and a 'member of the women's suffrage movement'. she composed music like songs, piano, 'chamber music, orchestral works, choral works and operas'. she is woman who accept who her sexual preference as lesbian and help other lesbian to have woman right.



                                     Woman Earrings

Woman Earrings is from Roman Period , Circa, 100-105 B.E, Provenance not known, encaustic melted wax on wood. Bequest of Mrs Carl L, Selden, 1996.146 gram. it is traditional Egyptian burials included face mask, coffin, or mummy boards with an idealized image of the deceased. this type of image is named Fayum portraits because a grEat number of them were discovered in the Fayum oasis in Egypt. even so the origin of the woman earrings and other portrait is unknown.

Statue of queen Akhnes- meryre and her son Pepy 2 is from an old kingdom, Dynasty 6, reign of Pepy 2, Circa 2288-2224/2194 B.C.E. it is probably from upper Egypt. it made from alabaster.
Pepy 2 became king when he was a child so his mother acted as regent. this statue conveys her role, evoking the typical Egyptian pose of a mother nursing a child. Pepy is show a miniature king rather a child and her mother the queen is holds him like protecting him as he claps her hands.

this paint is on oil on panel. it painting is flat with interlock shapes. it a portrait of a woman wearing a pointed collar, veil, and a brimmed hat. it was made during world war 2 evoking the violence in that time.
